With room for parties of up to 30 people, the Wine Room is the Grill Room's exclusive private dining room. "It's the ideal location for social or corporate events that really make a statement," says Maitre d' David Brodis. "Where else can you hold a function surrounded by more than 1,500 bottles of wine and be served by a Four-Diamond Award winning wait staff?"
Indeed, dining in the Wine Room is a feast for the eyes as well as the palette. The dark-wooden wine racks. The rich-hued carpeting. The ruby red and deep golden wines. All combine to create the perfect atmosphere.
And those wine racks are certainly more than decorative. They are functional. Separated from the Wine Room by a glass wall, the area around the wines is climate controlled and kept at exactly 60 degrees - the perfect storage temperature for red and white wines.
Fans of Jack Nicholson may feel a sense of déjà vu when walking into the Wine Room. That's because the wine racks and glass walls were originally constructed as a wine shop set for the 1996 movie Blood and Wine, which featured Nicholson along with Michael Caine, Judy Davis, Stephen Dorff, and Jennifer Lopez. In that movie Jack Nicholson plays a wine merchant who gets caught up in a jewel heist.
With doors that separate it from the Grill Room on Las Olas, its own air conditioning, and its own sound system, the Wine Room provides an exclusive dining experience that is truly unique. "It may well be Fort Lauderdale's best-kept secret," Brodis says. At least until now...
