IT'S TEA TIME ON LAS OLAS! RENOWNED RIVERSIDE HOTEL DEBUTS ELEGANT NEW AFTERNOON HIGH TEA PROGRAM
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - (June 7, 2007) - The Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard today unveiled its exquisite new afternoon high tea program.
"The Classic English Afternoon Tea" boasts a worldly selection of freshly brewed teas, antique china or silver tea service in the hotel's newly appointed lobby and tropical gardens. The Riverside incorporates the charm and traditions of a classic high tea experience, offering white glove and black tail butler service.
With a unique sampling of Queen Catherine, Darjeeling, English Breakfast, Chamomile and Verveine teas - as well as "scented teas" and Black Currant - the Classic English Afternoon Tea program includes two options.
Priced at $24 per person, the Full Tea features:
- An assortment of tea sandwiches
- Oven-fresh scones with Devonshire cream
- Homemade seasonal preserves
- Freshly baked pastries, including fruit tartlets, cakes, short bread, fruitcake and tea cookies.
Building on the Full Tea, The Royal Tea, priced at $32 per person, adds:
- Shrimp and crab salad sandwiches
- Vol au vonts of shrimp
- Mushrooms and eggplant tofu
- Open-faced sandwiches of thinly sliced salmon with dilled cream cheese
- Chocolate-dipped strawberries for dessert.
The Riverside Hotel's new "Her Majesty's Favorites" menu supplements the tea experience with a la carte offerings, including:
- Pate champagne de Canpagine with cognac ($11)
- Pate champagne with shrimp, scallops and crab ($13)
- A pate tasting assortment ($13)
- Osetra Russian Caviar with Bellini (market price)
- Assorted fresh fruits and imported cheese platter for two ($12)
- Smoked salmon on a season toast points ($11)
- Fresh baked mini quiche Du Jour ($5).
