Las Olas Boulevard: Heaven for Burger-lovers with Luxe Twist
Did you know that nearly one-third of all Americans have eaten a hamburger (or cheeseburger) at some point in the last 24 hours? Yes, it's true. The burger is an American mealtime favorite, with billions of burgers consumed each year.
May is "National Burger Month" - so what better way to celebrate than by hitting Las Olas Boulevard for some personal taste testing?
If you're looking for variety, the Cheesecake Factory boasts six different types of burgers (seven if you count their delicious Turkey Burger)! Traditionalists will find The Classic Burger the perfect super-sized hamburger heaven. Those wanting something...well, more...should order the Tons of Fun Burger. This features double patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and secret sauce on, you guessed it, a triple sesame-seed bun.
Over at Big City Tavern, regular patrons have made the 10-ounce Sirloin Burger a menu favorite. What makes this tasty morsel so popular is that it's stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese and served open-faced with fries. Even those who aren't big burger lovers find this one too tasty a temptation to pass up.
The Barbeque Burger over at Johnny V has a little bit of tang to it. It's smoked, spiked and grilled, as the menu says, and topped off with lettuce, tomato and caramelized onions. It's served up on a Kaiser roll with hand-made fries.
Sidewalk dining is made even more enjoyable at Indigo with their Classic Hamburger, a certified Angus beef burger topped with classic extras. Really hungry? Add cheese and bacon to this treat.
Finally, if you like your burger served up with a size of jazz, head on over to O'Hara's, where a half-pound charbroiled burger, topped with your choice of cheese, is accompanied by performances by some of the nation's best jazz talent.
It may take months of tasting and sampling to determine just which burger is your favorite. Start this month, "National Burger Month," but be sure to leave plenty of time for experimentation. |
