Forget about Tiffany's...Try Breakfast
at Indigo
Whether you're hungry for breakfast or a leisurely brunch, Indigo is a great bet on Las Olas Boulevard. Located at the Riverside Hotel, this local favorite offers the best selection of breakfast fare to appease any appetite. It's a busy, happening spot that doesn't skimp on the details. Its comfortable outdoor seating area, classic décor, and scrumptiously prepared entrees, bring a whole new meaning to the term "sophistication."
Indigo is the perfect blend of Las Olas Boulevard's charming and understated elegance. Its ornate Bamboo ceiling fans, quaint lighting fixtures and laid-back ease of comfortable rattan chairs makes it hard to leave. But the greatest part of Indigo is still the food. Indigo's insistence on high-quality ingredients has made it a local favorite for decades.
We started by ordering their freshly squeezed orange juice, which contained just the right amount of pulp. When you order two cups of coffee, the waitress leaves a personal insulated pot at your table, so you can refill your cup at your convenience. All breakfast entrees make their way from the kitchen to your table with a cover to retain their unique flavor and heat.
If you are in the mood for the best poached eggs you've ever had, then you must order Indigo's Eggs Benedict. Two expertly prepared poached eggs atop a toasted English muffin, as a technically perfect Hollandaise sauce covers them. Indigo's Hollandaise sauce is lemony, fork sticking, thick and delicious. The consistency of the medium-firm yolks smoothly ooze out once broken, and the lightly browned Canadian bacon has the perfect texture, saltiness, and taste. This dish was served with a side of home fried potatoes. Our waitress suggested I add a splash of hot sauce and I couldn't have asked for a better tip. Throughout the meal, the English muffin stayed toasty and crisp.
For those looking for a non-benedict breakfast, the Trifecta Omelet met with high regard. The trifecta is made from three large eggs and your choice of three of the following toppings: mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, bacon, ham, salmon, cheddar or Swiss cheese. It is served with a side of home fried potatoes and your choice of toast. We sampled a combination of onions, ham, Swiss cheese and tomatoes, and when it comes to taste, this dish cannot be beaten. The eggs were not rubbery, soft or soggy, but were cooked to perfection showcasing their exceptional taste and texture.
Indigo offers the perfect setting to develop lasting memories as you share a wonderful morning with a special friend or loved one. The staff is accommodating and remembers every face. A truly wonderful way to start the day, an experience you'll want to repeat again and again.
